Andrew Scribner-Maclean joined the Town of Maynard in December, 2013 as the Assistant Town Administrator / Executive Director of Municipal Services.
Under the general direction of the Town Administrator, Andrew provides assistance with the efficient administration of all functions and activities under the Board of Selectmen and Town Administrator’s Office.
He is directly charged with management responsibility and general supervision over the functions, programs, services, operations, activities and facilities of the Office of Municipal Services. Municipal Services includes the following divisions: Building & Inspections, Public Health, Conservation, Licensing, Planning, Zoning and Community Development. This includes working collaboratively and providing assistance to the following appointed policy making bodies; Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, Board of Health, Conservation Commission and the Local Licensing Authority.
Andrew supervises the Facilities Department, Council on Aging, and Veterans Services. He also coordinates the Town’s personnel efforts including hiring and leading labor negotiations, and provides expertise in capital planning and procurement.
Andrew previously served as the Public Safety Business Administrator for the Town of Reading, Massachusetts for 7-years and worked in public higher education for 14-years at the UMass Lowell and UMass Boston campuses. He has held positions in the private sector in sales, sales management and information technology.
Andrew earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Education from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell and has studied at UMass Amherst and Suffolk University graduate management programs. He earned a Graduate Certificate in Local Government Leadership & Management from Suffolk University’s Moakley Center for Public Management.
