Lucas Koskinen, a senior at Maynard High School and member of the National Honor Society is participating in the Home for Little Wanderers “Keep Kids Warm Coat Drive”. The Home for Little Wanderers is a 501C-3 non-profit organization serving over 7,000 youth, aged birth to 22 years, in the Greater Boston Area. Their mission is to “ensure the healthy behavioral, emotional, social and educational development and physical well-being of children and families living in at-risk circumstances.” You can learn more about the Home and their work at www.thehome.org.
As part of his NHS project, Lucas has decided to help the children and youth in the Home’s programs be prepared for the cold weather by collecting donations of NEW, UNWORN sweat shirts, hoodies, heavy winter coats, lightweight fall jackets, hats/gloves, and rain slickers for all sizes XS – XXL and ages through young adults. Marked collection boxes for donation drop off are located at the Maynard Town Hall, Maynard High School, Fowler Middle School, and St. John’s Church on Great Road in Sudbury. The drive will run from October 29 to November 28, 2018. Lucas is hoping members of Maynard and surrounding communities will consider donating an item to this worthwhile cause.
