Job Posting – DPW Skilled Laborer

Job Vacancy: Full Time, Union
Skilled Laborer – DPW Cemetery & Parks Division
Wages: $21.42 – $23.44/Hour

The Town of Maynard Department of Public Works is accepting applications for the position of full-time Skilled Laborer. This position operates light/heavy equipment and performs skilled manual work.

Job Responsibilities:
Operating equipment such as a motor vehicles, power equipment, and machinery; participating in snow plowing and roadway maintenance; performing grounds, parks and cemetery maintenance and various other work assignments to support the Town of Maynard’s Department of Public Works.

Hours of work are Monday – Friday 0700-1530. Overtime is required during emergency situations (winter storm response, etc.).

Minimum Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry weight of 50 pounds, climb ladders, squat, sit and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to work in poor weather conditions including heat, cold, rain or snow.

This position requires a high school diploma and at least one (1) year job-related experience in construction, landscaping, or similar trade.

Required Licenses:
Class A or B State of Massachusetts Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Class 2A Hoisting License. Candidates who are able to receive required licenses within 90 days of employment may be considered.

Candidates must be able to pass a DOT physical, drug screening and CORI background check.
