“It started in October 2016 as a 15-week pilot program with only two riders the first day, but now Maynard’s commuter shuttle takes 25 riders a day from various locations in Maynard and Acton to the South Acton MBTA station and back again.
Spearheaded by Assistant Town Administor Andrew Scribner-MacLean, town officials in Maynard and Acton originally allocated $10,000 for the shuttle, which operates in conjunction with CrossTown Connect, a transportation management association, that provides transportation options for people living in Acton, Boxborough, Littleton, Maynard and Westford. It costs about $60,000 a year to operate the shuttle, which Scribner-MacLean said is funded by rider fares and state grant money. Rides cost $2 each way and passes must be purchased online at epay.cityhallsystems.com/selection.”
