A reminder that tomorrow’s ribbon cutting is scheduled for 2 pm at the HoneyBee Meadow in the rear of Artspace. There will be light refreshments from Serendiptiy and the Boston Bean House.
Music, brief speeches, and activities for children will be integrated into the event. Rep. Hogan is tentative, if she makes it, it will be briefly, right at 2 pm as she has an Eagle Scout ceremony to attend in Hudson. Representatives from MassDevlopment and Patronicity, our crowd-source and grant partner, are also expected. The entire event will last less than an hour.
This small urban park is replacing a weed covered vacant area and grew from an inkling of an idea into a widespread community program. 139 individual donors contributed $8595 to make this a reality. It is a tribute to the two artist’s idea and effort but also to that ‘je ne said quoi’ that makes Maynard so special. With hand carved benches, sculptures, educational materials, wildflowers, and an active bee hive, this is truly a unique public space that the town can be proud of for years to come.
