July 1 saw the first phase of public outreach for the Maynard Housing Production Plan: a “visioning forum”. The forum was jointly presented by the Town and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC).
A Housing Production Plan (HPP) is a guide that can be incorporated into a master plan or function as a stand-alone document. A key component of the HPP is an analysis to understand housing cost burden for residents. By defining local housing needs and demand through outreach, analysis and the public process, MAPC and Town staff can develop goals and strategies to achieve objectives for the HPP.
If you didn’t have an opportunity to attend the workshop take a minute to view this interesting PowerPoint from the session, featuring assistant Director of Land-Use Planning, Jennifer Raitt, and Housing Planner, Karina Milchman.
Also because of the overwhelming demand, the housing survey also being presented by MAPC will be held open through July. For residents to take the survey, click here: Maynard Housing Survey
