On January 22nd more than 150 people came to the Maynard Municipal Golf Course to celebrate the opening of its new Council on Aging (COA) location. A new Director, Amy Loveless, started work in Town on January 20, 2015 and was introduced to the community at the same time. Senator Eldridge and Representative Hogan were among the guests which included Selectman Bill Cranshaw and Chris DiSilva and the Massachusetts Council on Aging Executive Director, David Stevens, Minuteman Senior Services Director Joan Butler, and four Directors from neighboring COAs in Acton, Concord, Stow, and Westford.
Residents have been asking for improved space and program offerings that the new location will help provide. The COA has been housed in Clock Tower Place since 2002. The new location, in 1400 sq. ft. of unused space in the rear of the Clubhouse provides better access, modern features, and beautiful views. In addition, there is a dining room which can seat 100 people and a 400 sq. foot deck with the best views in Town of the golf course.
The COA will operate at the Clubhouse from 9 am – 1 pm Monday – Friday, all year long. The golf course will continue to operate as well.
